Cold Noses, the Times-Union’s weekly pet column, features dogs and cats available for adoption at area government-run animal shelters.
Many shelters remain closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, but some are allowing adoptions and foster families by appointment. Call the individual shelters for more information.

Shadow is a 6-year-old Jack Russell terrier/chihuahua mix dog (ID number 56576). She loves people and having fun. She walks well on a leash, knows a few commands and is clean.
Charity is a 2-year-old semi-long-haired domestic female cat (ID no. 56559). He’s a bundle of love and fluff who likes to talk and sit in empty boxes.

Chi-Chiformerly known as Brownie, is a 9 month old mixed breed female dog (ID number A036692). She graduated from the Teaching Animals by Prisoners for Success program and is back at the shelter for adoption. She is a bit shy and quiet but loves to run, knows basic commands and is cage trained. She accepts dogs and likes meeting new people, but not small animals like cats.
Talia is a 10-month-old dilute tortoiseshell-colored domestic short-haired female cat (ID A037303). She would like to be a domestic cat and a companion cat.
